Wangjian (847 - 918), an emperor governed Former Shu (current Sichuan) in Five Dynasties for 11 years.

Yongling was the earliest Chinese royal tombs to be excavated. It has the largest above-ground tomb with a dome shaped mound of 80 m in diameter and 15 m in height. Relics from Yongling provides us a window to a very prosperous and open culture.

Engraved on the middle part of Wangjian's coffin, there is a complete set of royal court orchestra. These engravings hold a very high position in Chinese music history, since they are the only ancient relics depicting the music sences in the royal palace of Tang Dynasty and Former Shu. The orchestra used 20 different kinds of instruments coming from other regions of China as well as other countries like India, Iran etc.

Even in the pouring rain, a general, a legendary beast and a civil official are all calmly holding their posts as guardians of Yongling.
