Santa Barbara Botanical Garden

Toad Hall, an organic sculpture made of willows, is currently the centerpiece of the botanical garden. It is a good spring for the wild flowers in the meadow.

Unususal scene:
Plants in desert garden are covered with lichens.

Cactus pears: A gardener gave me one to try: quite juicy and tasty!

This kind of huge oak is often seen on the trail.

Mission waterwork system
This dam, more than 200 years old, was built by Indians in cooperation with Mission Santa Barbara.

Many trails like this one go up and down the canyon.
