| At about 1220 m (4000 feet) on the ridge of Santa Catalina Mountain north of Tucson, massive structures of Biosphere 2 dominants the desert reserve landscape . This 3.15-acre (127000 m2) facility has 5 different biomes which include ocean, tropical rainforest, wetland, Savannah grassland and fog desert. A walk under the glass ceiling gives me a deeper appreciation for our Biosphere I and a glimpse for the upcoming space age. | |
