Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Lauraceae

The popular spice cinnamon comes from the dried and curled bark of the cinnamon tree. The new leaves of the cinnamon tree are bright red. Each leaf has three characteristic parallel-running white veins. Cinnamon has tiny flowers which are usually pollinated by insects.

Coffea Arabica, Rubiaceae

Coffee beans are the dried and roasted seeds extracted from these red fruits.

Coffee fruits are fleshy drupes. Each fruit has two seeds (coffee beans) in its soft and sweet pulp.
